Blackbeard’s Bloody Revenge
October 1522 - a terrible storm is raging off the point of Landguard on All Hallows Eve. Amongst the high winds and waves, the notorious pirate ship ‘Black Raider’ captained by the evil Blackbeard is overwhelmed and sinks to its watery doom in Davy Jones Locker. Washed ashore in the shadow of one of the first forts of Landguard, Blackbeard and his motley crew of cut-throats are ruthlessly cut down and slaughtered by the waiting Fort soldiers, their bodies left to rot then buried in shallow graves. October 2022 - on the 500th anniversary of that fateful night, rumours abound that the Pirate King Blackbeard and his crew will rise again from the blood-soaked shores of Landguard to take their bloody revenge on those that are brave enough to visit the Fort this Halloween.

After your exploration (if you survive!), make sure you visit the notorious Cutthroat Tavern at the Fort for a well-earned ale or two.
