Check out our pictures from one of the biggest re-enactment events in the region this year.
More than 60 living historians took the fort back to 1943 over the weekend of 29-30th April. A fantastic turn-out of visitors enjoyed seeing breadmaking, baking, laundering, overhauling weapons, parade drill and other soldierly (and not so soldiery) activities. Civilian ladies of the day and the night strutted their stuff and even Captain Mainwaring from the bank put in an appearance. According to one visitor "It was more like the real thing than the real thing - I should know, I was there in 1943!". According to another, "They were really living it - didn't seem like a re-enactment at all".
So a massive thank you to all the re-enactors and our wonderful visitors for a superb weekend.
