TOWERS OF EAST ANGLIA EXHIBITION AT LANDGUARD FORT, FELIXSTOWE - 10th to 19th July 2009
Tall towers have always inspired feelings of awe, and in East Anglia’s flat landscape, they have a much more significant visual impact than in other parts of the country.
This exhibition celebrates and explores the majesty of towers — from masts and silos to church towers, lighthouses to Martello and water-towers — and the impact they have on the surrounding space.
It is set in the magnificent surroundings of Landguard Fort, testimony to how towers combine form and function to capture our imagination.
