Historical Information Wanted

  1. Seaward Defence HQ. This was a control room built into one of the 12.5" gun casemates in the early 50s. Although we have a good plan of the layout of the control room we know nothing else. SDHQs were sited in other parts of the country-does anyone know how they were run, do you know anybody who may have served in one of these HQs. Has any one come across references in the Public Record Office Any piece of information however small would be welcome.
  2. Did you serve at Landguard Fort, Brackenbury Battery or Manor House Battery or did anybody you know, please let us know.
  3. If you use the Public Record Office would you be willing to do research for the Landguard Fort Trust?
  4. Beer. Does anybody know if Tolly Cobbolds supplied beer to Landguard Fort and/or HM Warships at Harwich. The original brewery was based at Harwich between 1723 to 1746 possibly longer.

If you have any information you would like to share email historian@landguard.com
